Welcome to the website for the 2026 Rencontres du GDR 'Plastiques, Environnement, Santé'
The GDR ‘Plastiques, Environnement, Santé’ took over from the GDR ‘Polymères & Océans’ in 2024, broadening its focus to include environmental and health issues related to plastic waste.
The GDR's annual meetings provide an opportunity to bring the scientific community together. Since the first edition of the GDR Polymères & Océans meetings in 2020 in Créteil, four events have been organized in Pau in 2021 (remotely), Brest in 2022, Rennes in 2023, Marseille in 2024, and Bordeaux in 2025. These meetings have brought together between 100 and 170 people (researchers, doctoral students, industrialists, etc.) at each previous edition.
The 7th GDR meeting, which is expected to attract a maximum 200 participants, will take place in Boulogne-sur-Mer from June 23th to 25th, 2026.
Eight topics will be addressed:
Colonization of plastics by microorganisms;
Occurrence, behavior, transport, and transfer of plastics in environmental compartments;
Identification and behavior of polymers in formulations;
Processes of (bio)degradation of plastic waste;
Life cycle analysis and eco-design of plastics;
Onehealth, impacts of plastics on the environment and human health;
Humanities and social sciences applied to the issue of plastic waste;
Metrology of plastics: from nano/micro-particles to macro-waste.
